Elizabeth Walker '02
Liz Walker balanced her dual interests: a life in the arts and serious academic pursuits. Landing a job with the newly forming Los Angeles Ballet, she deferred her acceptance to Harvard to dance in the company’s inaugural season.
Taking leave from the company, she became a full-time student and danced with the Harvard Ballet, and took one more break to dance with the LA Ballet before completing her degree. Now in mid-career, she is a soloist with the LA Ballet and collaborates with other companies.
Ever moving forward, Liz has an eye on her role in promoting ballet to a wider audience and bringing it back into the mainstream.
“Follow what interests you, and pay attention to whatever it is that you’re willing to work a little harder at.”
